NTENJERU — It was a mixture of comedy and competitive football at the Ntenjeru Ssaza Grounds as Ssaza Bulemeezi edge out hosts Ssaza Bugerere 1-0 in a closely contested build-up match.
The pre-match talking point, however, happened before a ball was even kicked. In what was supposed to be a grand unveiling of Bugerere’s latest additions and strategy, things didn't exactly go according to plan. The highly anticipated unveiling ceremony suffered a few hilarious, uncoordinated technical glitches, leaving fans and officials sharing a good laugh before the serious business on the pitch commenced.
Once the match kicked off, the lighthearted mood quickly turned intense. Both teams used the friendly fixture to test their squad depth and tactical shapes ahead of competitive tournaments.
The breakthrough came courtesy of Shafik Nyanzi, who found the back of the net for Bulemeezi. Despite Bugerere pushing hard for an equalizer in front of their home crowd, Bulemeezi's defense held firm to secure the 1-0 victory.
