Uganda Premier League side URA FC have completed the signing of forward Kenneth Kimera from reigning champions Vipers SC, adding another attacking option to their squad ahead of the new season.
Kimera arrives at the Tax Collectors with valuable top-flight experience and a growing reputation as a lively and clinical forward. His move to URA follows a productive spell with Express FC, where he spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan from Vipers.
Kimera’s previous move to Express was confirmed in March 2026, with the forward joining the Red Eagles on loan from Vipers.
Kimera has already featured for several clubs on the Ugandan football scene, including Vipers SC and the now-defunct Wakiso Giants FC.
His time at Vipers gave him an opportunity to compete at the highest level of Ugandan football, while his experience with Wakiso Giants further developed his understanding of the Uganda Premier League.
Vipers’ official records also highlight Kimera’s contribution during his time at the club, including a match-winning goal against Wakiso Giants in March 2025.
The forward has also been involved in the Masaza Cup, representing Gomba Ssaza, where he continued to build his reputation as an attacking player.
Kimera’s most recent experience came at Express FC, where his loan spell produced several memorable performances.
One of his standout moments came in the Uganda Cup Round of 16 when Express defeated Red Devo 4-0 at Hamz Stadium. Coming off the bench, Kimera scored twice in quick succession to help the Red Eagles seal their place in the quarter-finals.
He also made his mark in the Uganda Premier League. In Express’ 3-1 victory over URA, Kimera scored in stoppage time to complete the win, while the official UPL report also records him among the goalscorers in Express' late victory over Police, where he was named Man of the Match.
Those performances demonstrated Kimera’s ability to make an impact even when introduced from the bench, as well as his knack for finding important goals late in matches.
For URA FC, the signing represents an opportunity to add a forward who already understands the demands of the Uganda Premier League.
Kimera brings pace, movement and an eye for goal, while his experience at Vipers and Express means he has operated in environments where competition for places is intense.
His familiarity with Ugandan top-flight football should also allow him to settle quickly into URA’s setup and contribute to the club's ambitions.
The Tax Collectors will be hoping Kimera can reproduce the attacking form he showed during his spell at Express and turn his experience into consistent performances in URA colours.
Kimera’s journey through Gomba in the Masaza Cup, Wakiso Giants, Vipers SC and Express FC reflects a steady progression through different levels and environments of Ugandan football.
Now, with his move to URA FC, the forward begins another chapter in his career.
After proving that he can score important goals at both league and cup level, Kimera will be looking to establish himself as a key figure in URA’s attack and make the most of his latest opportunity in the Uganda Premier League.
