The football fraternity has today gathered in Tororo to bid farewell to SC Villa Jogoo captain David Owori, who has been laid to rest following his tragic death.
Owori, who served as captain of the historic Jinja-based club, will be remembered for his leadership, commitment and dedication to the game. His passing has left a deep void within the SC Villa family, teammates, supporters and the wider Ugandan football community.
The defender was not only respected for his abilities on the pitch but also for the leadership he provided to his fellow players. Wearing the SC Villa armband, Owori represented the spirit and tradition of one of Uganda's most decorated football clubs.
His death sent shockwaves through Ugandan football, with tributes pouring in from clubs, players, coaches and fans who mourned the loss of a player who had become an important figure at SC Villa.
