Ugandan striker Yafesi Mubiru is officially a free agent after parting ways with Kenyan Premier League side KCB FC, bringing his spell with the Nairobi-based club to an end.
Mubiru joined KCB at the beginning of the previous season after making the move from Uganda Premier League outfit BUL FC. His departure now leaves the experienced forward available to explore a new challenge as clubs continue to shape their squads for the upcoming campaign.
The striker has built an interesting career across Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya, gaining valuable experience in different leagues and competitions. Before his move to KCB, Mubiru had established himself as a proven attacking option during his time with BUL FC.
His career also includes spells with Bright Stars, Tooro United and Onduparaka, while he gained international club experience in Rwanda with Sunrise FC. During his time at Sunrise, Mubiru showed his goalscoring ability and attracted attention with his performances in the Rwanda Premier League.
His move to BUL FC came after his stint in Rwanda, with the Jinja-based club adding the forward to their attacking options. Mubiru subsequently spent time in Uganda's top flight before securing the switch to KCB in Kenya.
Now, with his KCB chapter closed, Mubiru enters the transfer market as a free agent. His experience of playing in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya could make him an attractive option for clubs looking for an experienced striker capable of providing attacking depth and goals.
The next step in the 30-year-old's career will therefore be closely watched, with Mubiru free to negotiate with interested clubs as he looks for a new home.
For KCB, his departure represents another change to their attacking department, while for Mubiru, it offers an opportunity to begin a fresh chapter and potentially return to Uganda or continue his career elsewhere in the region.
